About Us
If you were asked to describe what "women's issues" are or to explain what a "women's development project" might do you could probably make a reasonably good attempt at it. So, why do most people find it difficult to comprehend what a men's project is and why it is needed? ... "Men's work" is definitely still at the edge of our understanding. Indeed, men, themselves, are often on the edge of our communities - socially, psychologically and physically.
The Men's Project is an initiative within the Parents Advice Centre. It was officially launched in September 1998 to begin to meet these needs in the north of Ireland. At its heart is the aim of increasing awareness of the issues facing local men and boys and promoting their social inclusion.
