Kick Start Programme

Is your organisation interested in developing work with fathers?

Do you ask yourself questions such as: Where do we start? What is possible? Who can help us? What has been tried in other places?

Would you like training and ongoing support to achieve your goal? ...

... Then "Kick Start" might help you!!!

Kick Start is an innovative programme which is funded by the Family Policy Unit and coordinated by The Men's Project.

Annually, it offers a seven month package of training, support, reflection and practical action to organisations that are currently trying to, or wishing to, engage with fathers in Northern Ireland. Our aim is to increase both the quantity and quality of dedicated work with fathers, and to build a robust infrastructure in this area.

The first intake of trainees took place during 2005 and a report on their experience is available for free downloading in Portable Document Format (PDF). A report on the 2006 and 2007 project is also available on this site.

Kick Start 2008 is, currently, underway. If you would like to see what is involved in this programme, please click on the Overview link below ...
