Overview of Work/Interest:
  • Team of 10 family mediators (2 male, 8 female) - each with nationally accredited qualifications in Family Mediation.
  • The mediator assists former partners to discuss issues and problems resulting from the ending of a relationship, with a view to reaching joint understandings and decisions about future arrangements for the family.
  • It is an approach to managing conflict and reducing personal and professional costs by enhancing parental participation in decision-making.
  • Referral sources include self, solicitors, courts, social workers, GPs and other health workers, and relationship counsellors.
  • Our position is one of impartial, but empathic acknowledgement of issues arising for both male and female parties. Both have individual opportunities to express individual concerns and discuss suitability for mediation.
