Overview of Work/Interest:

Fermanagh Volunteer Centre (FVC) was established in 1996 and exists to promote and support volunteering throughout County Fermanagh.

FVC is committed to volunteering and the benefits it has for society. Part of our role is to promote best practice thus ensuring that volunteering is worthwhile for the volunteer and the placement organisations.

FVC can assist in a number of different ways:

  • assist with the recruitment, selection, support and training of volunteers
  • by registering volunteers needs and referring suitable potential volunteers to placement organisations
  • help to develop new projects involving volunteers led organisations or projects
  • provide basic administration for volunteers and volunteer involving organisations.
  • conduct Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults (POCVA) checks in a partnership programme with placement organisations ensuring that those volunteering with children and vulnerable adults are adequately vetted as part of the recruitment process.

Programmes delivered through the centre:

  • Community Safety Advisors Programme/Training
  • Community Volunteer Scheme, Small Grants
  • Programme Millennium Volunteers

Training courses available through FVC:

  • Child Protection Training
  • Community Capacity Building
  • POCVA Training
  • Community Safety Training
  • Peace and Reconciliation Training
