| Overview of Work/Interest: |
- My specialist field is psychotherapeutic counselling approaches to
suicide prevention and postvention.
- I offer counselling support to asylum seekers and refugees. This is
a pro bono service where an interpreter is present to facilitate the
counselling relationship. This work is carried out in association with
the Law Centre (NI) and the DHSS Regional Interpreting Service.
- Men of all ages in Ireland are at significantly greater risk of suicidal
death than women of similar demographic profiles
- Suicide prevention is a duty of care that we are all - men and women
- invited to recognise and observe in relation to other humans.
- My doctoral study at the University of Ulster explores the identity
development of counsellors who experience client suicide.
