| Overview of Work/Interest: | The Health Service Executive and the National Suicide Research Foundation set up the Mind Yourself Project in response to youth suicide and, in particular, young male suicide, in the counties of Cavan, Louth, Meath and Monaghan. Following early consultations with young people and key members of the community, and having researched best practice in evidence-based suicide prevention strategies, the Mind Yourself Programme was developed. The Mind Yourself Programme is a strength-based psycho-educational intervention that is delivered to a general population of 15-17 year olds within schools and other organisations. The key aim of the programme is to bring a mental health-promoting programme to a wide cross section of young people to try to enhance resilience, coping and problem-solving skills.
