Overview of Work/Interest:

New Life Counselling Service, an award winning charity, was established in November 1993 and is a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). Each practitioner works in accordance wth the ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy.

The organisation is based in North Belfast and delivers an outreach service to community groups across the city. The organisation offers a counselling service within four distinct projects:

  • Child Project (5-11 years)
  • Youth Project (12-24 years)
  • Adult Project (25 years and over)
  • Family Project (for family units with children of all ages)

Monday - Thursday
8.00am - 7.00pm
Friday
9.00am - 2.30pm

Referrals can be made directly to New Life Counselling Service using the contact details above or through another person (e.g. family member, GP, community group).

The Child Project offers young boys:

  • Individual counselling/therapy sessions through the use of creative interactions such as art therapy, play therapy
  • Support groups tailored to need

The Youth Project offers young men:

  • Individual counselling/therapy sessions
  • Regular support groups for young men

The Youth Project have ran a number of projects which have included young males aged 16-25 on a range of themes such as anger, drug/alcohol and identity..

In partnership with other providers, the youth group work involves a variety of creative and fun indoor and outdoor active pursuits. The aim of the group work is to explore and acquire the skills involved in physical, mental and emotional survival, through a challenging and rewarding experience.

The Adult Project offers men:

  • Individual counselling/therapy sessions
  • Ongoing therapy group for men and women

The Adult Project support 25 years + in therapeutic intervention in groups and individual on a short and long term basis.

The Family Therapy Project offers:

  • Families - Family therapy to explore family issues with a qualified family therapist.
